let's get sweaty!
I spent all weekend playing Shenmue. The game does a good job of immersing the player in it's little universe filled with apartment complexes, night clubs and soba houses. As far as plot is concerned the game is usually compared to campy kung fu movies. But I don't know how accurate that comparison is since i'm not very familiar with those types of films, unless Enter the Vagina and Vagina of Legend were kung fu movies...

One of the great innovations of Shenmue was it's inclusion of hundreds of NPCs (Non player characters) that work in shops and travel to and fro just like real people. Their presence makes the game seem really real and makes it a viable alternative to Reality.

Much of the hype for this game surrounded a technology called F.R.E.E. which stands for Fully Reactive Eyes Entertainment. Yet another attempt by the japanese to invalidate the existence of the English language by creating acronyms that make absolutely no sense whatsover. Screw you japan! i'm not adopting your stupid Cantonese as my preferred language!

If i could suggest only one improvment for this game it would be to give Ryo (the main character) copious amounds of acne. Oh and they could throw in a few more school girls as well.

Be sure to read Raevyn and fishjizz's diaries. They rock! and aren't lazy at all!
